The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team had a successful season in 1983. They finished the regular season with a record of 10-1, earning them a spot in the Orange Bowl against the Miami Hurricanes.
The Cornhuskers were led on offense by quarterback Turner Gill, who completed 62.2% of his passes for 1,842 yards and 15 touchdowns. Running back Mike Rozier was also a key contributor, rushing for 1,429 yards and 15 touchdowns.
On defense, the Cornhuskers were anchored by linebacker Mike Knox, who recorded 118 tackles and five sacks on the season.
In the Orange Bowl, the Cornhuskers put up a good fight, but ultimately fell to the Hurricanes by a score of 31-30. Despite the loss, the 1983 Nebraska football team is still remembered as one of the program's more successful squads.
